A historical province known as Manila encompasses the former pre-Hispanic kingdoms of Tondo and Maynila. It became the capital of the colonial Philippines, with Manila (Intramuros) serving as the center of colonial power. In 1898, it included the City of Manila and 23 other municipalities. Manila was known before as “Ginto” (gold) or “Suvarnadvipa” by neighboring settlements and was officially named as the Kingdom of Maynila or the “Kota Seludong”, one of the three major city-states that dominated the area by the lower reaches and mouth of the Pasig River before the arrival of the Spaniards.
Nightlife in Intramuros
Apart from enjoying the historic city during the day, it can as well be wandered upon during the night. Intramuros is beaming with bright lights during the night. it cannot be denied that the city filled with history has happiness and a vibrating ambiance at night. Intramuros never shun the night, it embrace the exciting aura of the moon and its breathtaking experience of itself. Manila Cathedral has the best sight during the evening because of the lights that surround it and the mini park that is in front of the church. Fort Santiago also has a different ambiance during the night which adds more beauty to it. There are a lot of cafes around the church that offer delicious coffees with outstanding views and places of chill.
